The novel, "Noteworthy Tribute," follows friends on the path to making a name for themselves in both life and the music world. But as anyone who has ever known anything about music knows, making a name for yourself is far from easy. Cory and Evan are two young men whose lives are entrenched in their own musical worlds. Cory, having just lost his best friend in a drug-deal gone wrong, is debating hanging up his guitar and moving on altogether. Evan, feeling misunderstood and uncertain of his direction, is still hoping to strike it big, though he is uncertain of how exactly he's going to go about doing so. After a chance meeting on a pier and a few jam-sessions later, the boys find themselves the best of friends and making the greatest music of their young lives. With big success though, comes the lowest of lows, and they must navigate relationships, sacrifice and balance destiny.

Bruised but not Broken is a book of poetry that every woman can relate to; it is one of adversity, encouragement, and resilience. At one time or another, we all have EITHER been that woman in a relationship that took us on an emotional roller coaster ride, OR we have had a friend who were on that ride and we stood at the exit, holding her purse, waiting for her to get off.  This book will remind the reader of (1) the need for self-love (2) sisterhood, and most importantly, (3) the need to always stay focus on God, especially, when we are at our darkest moments.

Liane Young is a retired director of corporate communications for the Office of Naval Research. Before writing Operation Firefly as a novel, she wrote the story as a screenplay and won the 2012 Virginia Screenwriting Competition. Both the novel and the screenplay tell the amazing, little-known story of the US Army's  first all-black WWII parachute test platoon--the 555th Parachute Infantry Battalion (Triple Nickles) -- who served as smokejumpers, firefighters, and Japanese bomb defusers in Oregon and California.

Liane is a life member of the 555th Parachute Infantry Association, a member of their Executive Board and their Public Affairs Officer.
